October 15, 2010: Research the inter-net for information on the Kitty Genovese murder (1964). Concentrate on the facts surrounding the 38 people who witnessed the murder but did nothing to assist Genovese. Write a two page essay about the 38 people who witnessed the murder but did nothing until it was too late. Include a definition of the "Genovese Syndrome". Conclude your essay by answering the following question; As humans, have we improved over the years?
November 10 & 11, 2010: Small Group Presentation. Class will be broken down into four small groups (four students per group). Each group will be presented with an Ethical Business Model Project. Groups will work during class to address the scenario and give a 15 minute presentation on November 10th or 11th.
November 11, 2010: Term paper (Mid-Term Exam) on "What to do with Mrs. Carmichael"
January 21, 2011: Students will write a five page term paper (minimum) on any book, film, current event scenario, etc. Students should apply what they have learned during the course (ethical theories, personal ethics, Code of Ethics, etc.) in the paper. Students will present their topic for approval at the end of the first quarter. Class time will be given when available.
